Foxes as Models

We’re going to take a bit of a break from Cuban birds and get back to the snow and frost and beauty of the northern foxes. February and March are good months for fox photography as they sort of hang around the same place for a bit before heading off to set up their dens.

Spending time with this particular group is such a wonderful experience. It doesn’t usually take too long before someone comes over to investigate. This probably means there is someone else around who is feeding them as they are relatively fearless around humans. This could also be because they live in an area with quite a lot of human activity so they are just less bothered by us than their wild counter-parts.

During this particular visit the thinly-veiled sun created helped me create images that almost look as if they were staged in a studio. A couple of the images in particular have a delicate contrast that give me the sense that I have stepped back in time.

Expect more fox photos in the coming weeks and some new bird photos as the migrant birds begin returning to the boreal forest.

Thanks for stopping by and we’ll see you again next week! As always feel free to tag your friends and share.
