It’s been a while since I posted about foxes. I mean it’s been at least two weeks! I’ve had a couple of encounters with the vulpes and their kits. So far there is no evidence of folks feeding them thank goodness.
There are a lot of kits in this den and I’m not sure if there are two families here or just one very busy one! I counted at least seven kits…imagine 7 toddlers! Ouf!
For the most part, the kits were busy playing a game of chase and wrestling while some put themselves in time out for a short nap. There were at least 3 adults that I saw taking care of this year’s young though I think some might have been better foragers than others. I saw one fox bring back a shopping bag, empty and covered in mud but getting closer!
I hope to spend some more time with these ones before they disperse for winter.
