Fox in the Frost

Welcome back to the Sunday Edition. This week I’m sharing a few images I shot of a fox hunting on a frozen lake. I was out birding and spotted this red fox hunting along the shoreline in the cattails. The light and shadows at play across the ice made me think of wildlife paintings. I am always amazed at the grace and agility of the fox. They are light on their feet and so very quiet. I wish I could say the same.

It’s nearly June and there is still ice on many of the lakes and ponds. We woke this morning to temperatures below zero. I have yet to find any fox kits however others have spotted some around town. I sure hope they are staying warm at night as we impatiently wait for summer! Hopefully, with some warmer weather, the foxes will be out and about hunting to feed all the new mouths!

That’s all for this week. I hope you enjoy the photos and I’ll see you again next Sunday. Thanks for stopping by.
