Pandemic Birding

Hello there! It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to post and I appreciate your patience as we all adjust to the new “normal”. Things changed rapidly while I was on vacation and it took some time to readjust to this new life.

I was in Vancouver for ten days and during that time of increasing social distancing my son and I spent most of our time outdoors exploring parks and natural areas of our surroundings and enjoying the sun, tall trees, and birdsong along the beaches. The weather was beautiful during our visit and we had lots of green spaces nearby to explore. As you well know, one of my favourite outdoor activities is birding and we did a LOT of it! I added a number of new species to my life list and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of nature which in times like these is invaluable.

Some of the birds we saw in Vancouver are making their way up to Yellowknife as we speak. The weather here hasn’t warmed up as much as many of us would like for spring but hopefully, the trees will soon be filled with bird song. That might be one small thing that can bring us joy during these difficult times.

I hope you enjoy the images this week. Thank you again for stopping by. I really do appreciate the time you spend here. Take care all and we’ll see you again next week.
