Familiar Foxes

Welcome back to the Sunday Edition. You knew that sooner or later the fox pics were going to return. Well, you were right, here they are. I haven’t had much opportunity to get out and check on the little family but a couple of weeks ago I stopped in to see if anyone was still around. I was thrilled to see some familiar faces and meet some new members of the pack.

There are a few dens around town and sometimes I think that the foxes travel through the green spaces to get to different parts of the city. Some of the foxes with distinguishing features such as a missing tail have been spotted in different parts of the city that seem to be quite distant from each other until you consider foxes don’t drive.

Remembering that foxes travel through the forest and will travel across frozen lakes, the city suddenly seems a lot smaller which makes me wonder if the foxes in town are all related.

I’m not exactly sure how to keep track or identify individuals unless they have a distinguished pattern or colour. Thre are a few that I can recognize by their coat colour and one, in particular, I hope to run into again this year who has a black throat instead of a white one.

Expect to see many more fox images this year as I counted at least 7 individual foxes in the neighbourhood!

That’s all for this week. We’ll see you again next Sunday.
