I was fortunate to see a number of beautiful warblers during my trip. Cuba has a number of endemic species which means they have birds that you can only see in Cuba. I love the vivid colours of warblers and their varied songs and behaviours. They are most definitely one of my favourite birds.
We don’t get a lot of warblers in Yellowknife so the chance to see warblers from the south and the east was wonderful. Some of the birds I spotted while exploring Cienfuegos and some were just living in the bushes at our resort.
The half day birding tour was definitely worth it as we saw at least 5 different warblers in our tour (more about that next week). Some of the images I’ve included here but there are others I didn’t get a chance to photograph including a Yellow-throated warbler and a male Blackburnian warbler both of which were absolutely stunning but not interested in sitting still!
Enjoy the photos and tune in next week for a post about the bird that most wanted to see, my favourite Cuban bird…
Thanks for stopping by and we’ll see you next week!
