I planned a birding adventure as part of my vacation. There were a couple of birds that I really wanted to see while I was away, one of which you can only find in Cuba. The tour wasn’t until the last day of my vacation so I had a long wait to find out exactly which birds I’d seen by the time the tour came around.
Some of the birds we saw I recognized and others I recognized the family but not the particular species. I travelled through three different parts of Cuba from Havana down the coast through a portion of the Zapata Peninsula to Cienfuegos. Then I crossed the country to Cayo Coco where the birding tour took place.
I have a LOT of photos of birds from my trip. The next few weeks will be all about birds until spring actually arrives in Yellowknife and we can get back to photographing the migratory birds around here.
